Kathryn "Kathy" Skinner Lanford, age 69, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015. Kathy was born September 15, 1945. From the University of Tulsa, she received an undergraduate degree and Master's Degree in Special Education. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She worked as a special education teacher in the Tulsa School District. In 1976, she moved with her husband, Andrew "Andy" J. Lanford, from Tulsa to Ft. Worth. Encouraged by Andy, she entered Southern Methodist University School of Law and graduated in 1980. Practicing for the last 35 years, she specialized in Estate Planning. Through her law and special education expertise, she made an enormous contribution to the MHMR community in Ft. Worth. Both Kathy and Andy were ardent music lovers and longtime supporters of the arts in Ft. Worth. They were avid readers who valued the written word. They loved watching OU football on Saturday afternoons every fall. They loved and cared for many adopted dogs and cats.
Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Andy. Survivors include nieces, Suzanne Hall Lewis and Nancy Hall Ferrillo; stepdaughter, Andra Lupardus; stepson, John Lanford; and grandchildren, Katie, Emily and Brady. She had a special place in her heart for their pets Siegi, Lily, Bert, Dora and Ernie.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 10:00 A.M., at Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Humane Society of North Texas.
