Kathryn Janett Chitwood Savage, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, was born on November 16, 1945, to Earl and Iva Chitwood, and was the youngest of eight siblings. She passed peacefully from this life on September 4, 2026.

Kathy grew up surrounded by family and carried forward many of the gifts, talents, and interests that would shape her life. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1964. Becoming a wife and mother at a young age, she devoted herself to caring for her family with unwavering love and dedication.

She inherited her mother's green thumb, as well as her love of cooking and sewing, and throughout her life became known for her many talents and creative abilities. While she sewed many of her daughters' clothes as they were growing up, one of the most meaningful examples of her love and craftsmanship was the wedding dress she made for her oldest daughter, Karen.

Kathy had a special gift for creating beauty and making others feel cared for. She enjoyed tending her African violets and other plants, preparing meals for those she loved, and gathering family together. Christmas was especially dear to her heart. She delighted in making homemade candies and creating treasured holiday memories. Her love and thoughtfulness shone through in a beloved tradition: each year, she selected a special Christmas ornament for each grandchild, and on their twenty-first Christmas, she presented them with the collection she had carefully assembled over the years.

Kathy's caring nature extended beyond her family. She volunteered with Hospice of Green Country, sharing her compassion with those in need. She worked at the Tulsa Public Schools Education Service Center, and later as a medical transcriptionist, bringing the same dedication and attention to detail to her professional life that she showed in all she did.

Kathy enjoyed traveling, reading, playing the piano, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. At different times, her creative side also came through in cake decorating, painting ceramics, square dancing, and taking voice lessons. She was also a member of a bicycle riding group and enjoyed the friendships, fellowship, and adventures that came with it.

Above all, Kathy will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit, and the countless ways she cared for others. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a handmade gift, a kind word, or simply being present for those she loved, she left a lasting impact on the lives of everyone who was blessed to know her.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 31 years, Lawrence Savage; children, Karen Johns and husband Richard, Sheila Uhlman and husband Mark, Stephanie Aston, Wesley Savage and wife Shari, G'Ann Scott and husband Kevin, Stephen Savage and wife Christie, and Bryan Savage; along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, members, and dear friends who loved her deeply.

A service celebrating Kathy's life will be held at Moore Funeral Homes - Southlawn Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathy's memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or St Jude Children's Research Hospital
