Kathleen "Kathy" Tinkle Wilson, age 74, passed away Friday, October 18 at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital in Tulsa. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, February 19, 1945 to Florene (Webb) and Melvin Tinkle. She attended Will Rogers High School and graduated from Pawhuska High School. She worked in the insurance industry for many years and later worked for Claremore Travel (fostering her love of travel) and then was self-employed.
Kathy loved country and western dancing and it was through that love, she met the love of her life, Larry, at the Caravan Cattle Company. They were soon married and made their home in Verdigris. (As Larry shared, Kathy didn't care where they lived as long as it was together.) Since that time, they have seldom done anything without each other. Larry says that all the best things he has ever done in his life came after he met Kathy. "I doubt if I would even have a computer, if it wasn't for her. I cannot measure how much I miss her, and I'm a much better person for knowing her."
Kathy truly lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed simple pleasures. Kathy shared her father's sense of humor, which brought great joy to all who knew her. She was an amazing cook, and a talented seamstress. She sold her creations at many craft shows side-by-side with her husband, Larry. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, and because of that, she endeared herself to many, gathering friends along the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Jim Chezem.
She is survived by husband, Larry Wilson of the home; sister, Betty Chezem, nephew, Robert Chezem and wife Judy, grand-niece, Tabatha, grand-nephew, Matthew; niece, Stacey Smith and husband, David, grand-nephew, Michael; sister, Diane Koehring and husband Bob, niece Tracy Koehring, niece Tina Cates and husband Greg, grand-niece, Haley, grand-nephews Cayden and Callihan; sister-in-law, Carol Ogburn and husband Allen, nephews, David and Daniel Ogburn; brother-in-law, Doug Wilson and nephew, Joe Wilson; Angie Lawson, her beloved friend who she referred to as her "adopted daughter" and husband Cameron and their sons, Jake and Jesse; and dear friends Lori Goldizen, and Tracy Copp. All of these, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention will greatly miss her cheerful disposition.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Kathy touched are invited to join us as we celebrate her life.
