Obituary

Lloyd Kenneth Brown, Jr., who has died at the age of 82, was a natural-born salesman and a devoted family man.

He earned a bachelor's degree from East Central University, Ada, and was a graduate of Drumright High School. He was born in Cumberland, Oklahoma, on Lake Texoma, to Lloyd Kenneth Brown and Cynthia Jewell Kinsey.

He spent the majority of his working life running his own business, Lakeshore Foods, which kept him quite active for 35 years.

He held season tickets to Golden Hurricane basketball through 10 coaching changes and three home courts.

His devotion to Sooner football was legion, whether attending the occasional home game or scribbling notes in the margins of newspaper recruiting reports.

He had a resolute fear of flying but loved taking to the open road, almost always in the American West. A regular destination was Las Vegas, where he would play blackjack and his wife the slots. They would convene for dinner at the old Hilton Steakhouse.

A lifelong churchgoer, he was most recently a member at Parkview Baptist, Tulsa.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Bonna; a sister, Myrna Fielder, of Okmulgee; son Mark and his wife, Kelly; son Brent and his wife, Lee Ann; and son, Jason, all of Tulsa; and four grandchildren.

There will be a public viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. April 7 at Moore Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Parkview Baptist, 5805 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
