Kenneth Carl Conine, 95, passed away July 31, 2013 in Mustang, OK with his daughter and son in law by his side. He was born June 23, 1918 in Lenora, OK to Julia (Joy) and George Conine. He married Caroline Gunn on Feb 8, 1941 in Tulsa. During WWII he served in the US Army 76th Field Artillery and participated in the campaigns of Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe. After he returned from the war they decided to settle in Tulsa. He was a long time Funeral Director for Tulsa Whisenhunt and Moore Funeral Homes. He retired in 1989 and they moved to Bethany to be near their daughter and her family. Kenneth and Caroline enjoyed traveling, especially Las Vegas. They traveled all over the country and often took the grandkids along to share in the experience. They were married for 63 years until Caroline?s death in July 2004. He was a member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church and loved being the door greeter every Sunday. Kenneth is survived by his daughter and son in law, Kathy and Steve Emberton of Mustang; grandsons Chris Tobey of Alma, AR; Greg Tobey of Cedar Park, TX; granddaughter Susan Emberton of Norman; great grandchildren Ashley and Tyler Tobey of Burnet, TX and many nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Preceding him in death were three brothers and two sisters. We want to thank Larry Frellick for being such a good friend. Also Valir Hospice for their loving care. A celebration of his life will be held in Okla. City, Tuesday, August 6, 2 p.m. at Portland Avenue Baptist Church, 1301 N. Portland and in Tulsa, 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 7 at Moore Eastlawn Funeral, 1908 S. Memorial with Walter Millican officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
