Kenneth Lee Slusher was born in Konawa, Oklahoma on February 13, 1927. He passed way on August 2nd, 2022 at the age of 95. At the time of his death, he was in assisted living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Louise (Rinehart) Slusher, his mother Ora (Huff) Hill, his step father, William Dee Hill and his brother, Benny Slusher. Kenneth and Mary married on August 13, 1949 and had one son, Michael Lee Slusher, born September 12, 1950. Kenneth is survived by his son, Mike, his daughter-in-law Diane (Hart) Slusher, 2 grandchildren Jon Michael Slusher and Andrea Diane (Slusher) Gislason, her husband, Ryan Gislason, and one great-grandson, Jayson Bradlee Gislason.

Kenneth served during WWII in both the Merchant Marine and the US Army. Later in life, he proved to be a gifted writer and storyteller, posting many writings about his hometown of Konawa and his adventures in the Pacific during WWII.

Ken worked for Southwestern Bell for 39 years as a lineman, installer, and switchman - both in Muskogee, Oklahoma and in Tulsa. He retired in 1990. He and Mary were active in many Nazarene churches over the years but later in life, they faithfully attended Victory Christian Center in south Tulsa. One of his greatest joys was praying for his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandson. In the last few years, he became computer and Facebook savvy and loved to research Bible passages and post scripture. He was a man that loved Jesus and wanted everyone he knew, especially his family, to ask Jesus for forgiveness and invite him into their heart and begin a relationship with the Creator of the Universe. We know he has seen the face of Jesus and heard the words "well done, good and faithful servant". He is dancing on streets of gold with Mary and so many other friends and relatives that have gone before.

A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Memorial Park (51st and Memorial in Tulsa) at 10 am on Saturday, August 6.
