Obituary

Kenneth Lee Taylor, a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the age of 67. Born March 8, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kenneth was one of three children born to Leon and Alice Taylor.

Kenny attended Mitchell Elementary, Kerr Elementary, Lewis and Clark Junior High and East Central High School in East Tulsa, graduating in 1975. He attended Rogers State, The University of Oklahoma and earned dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Finance and Marketing from Northeastern State University.

After attending The University of Oklahoma, he went to work for Cities Service and remained in the Oil and Gas industry for the remainder of his career. Kenny moved to The Williams Companies in the 1990's retiring in 2017 with more than 20 years of service there. While at Williams, Kenny traveled to Europe and New York City, and spent 4 years commuting to the Calgary, Canada office.

Kenny married Sheila Urbanek in 1981 and began their family in 1984 with the birth of Brian with Jason and Daniel following. Kenny loved being a father and was so proud of his boys. He encouraged Brian's BMX racing and coached flag football and baseball for Brian and Jason until they were out of elementary school.

He and Sheila divorced in 1999 and Kenny married the love of his life, Joy Roscoe, in 2002. He and Joy were married 22 years.

Kenny enjoyed using the automobile repair skills he learned from his father throughout his lifetime. He rebuilt his childhood Honda and Suzuki motorbikes back to pristine condition, worked on his own vehicles and helped numerous friends and family members work on their automobiles.

Kenny loved sports. If there was an OU football game on, you can bet he was watching it. He came to be an avid OU Softball fan in recent years and attended several games. Sundays were racing days, and he enjoyed the strategy in the Indy and NASCAR races.

Kenny is survived by his wife Gwendolyn Joy Taylor, son Brian Taylor and wife Jessica of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; son Jason Taylor and wife Laura of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; son Daniel Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma and step-son Joshua Roscoe of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandsons Max Taylor and Everett Taylor; granddaughters Adalynn Taylor and Cadence Taylor; brother Gary Taylor and wife Irene of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister Donna Taylor of Spring, Texas; a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his mother Alice Taylor in 2008 and his father Leon Taylor in 2017.

Viewing for Kenny will be held from 5pm to 7pm at Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Services will be held at 2pm on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Believer's Church, 4705 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
