Krina A. Hendricks, 69, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma peacefully passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at St. John's Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born on October 1, 1946, in Delft, Holland to Peter Van Vliet and Marijtje 'Mary' (Herbert) Van Vliet.
On April 10, 1951 when she was four years old, her family immigrated to America and settled in Ogden, Utah. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1956. She grew up in Ogden, Utah with her brother Nicolaas 'Nick' Van Vliet and her sister Marjorie 'Margie' Van Vliet. She attended school in Ogden, Utah and in 1964 she graduated from Ogden High School. On September 21, 1971 she married William 'Sonny' R. Hendricks from Oklahoma and on January 27, 1974 they had a daughter.
Later in 1982 they moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and have lived there ever since. She learned her work ethic at an early age by helping her father on painting jobs as a kid and continued throughout her life working various jobs. For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper, office manager and tax preparer. She eventually opened up her own home daycare and grew it into a thriving business. She enjoyed being with the children and helping them learn and watching them grow. Over the years, she always helped those in need and was selfless with her time. She had a passion for sports. Her favorite teams were the Oklahoma Sooners, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. She always knew what games were being played and could tell you with uncanny accuracy who was going to win. She enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was at home, camping or fishing. She was always making sure that everyone was taken care of. She was a great teacher and encouraged those around her. Her shining light will be missed.
She is survived by her mother Mary Van Vliet of Ogden, Utah, her brother Nick Van Vliet of Clinton, Utah, her sister Margie Wardle and husband Steven Wardle of Wilsonville, Oregon, her daughter, Carrie M. Hendricks and husband Greg A. Wolfe of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Peter Van Vliet, September 30, 2010, and her husband, William 'Sonny' R. Hendricks, April 17, 1998.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home, Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1701 North Hickory Avenue, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012, officiated by Bishop Gary Blamires. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
