Obituary

Born in Tulsa on July 13, 1948, Larry Catron began his adventure.

From Patrick Henry Elementary to Edison High School, Larry graduated from Edison in 1966 where he sang in the HS choir and played football, both sides of the ball. What you may not know, is Larry had an offer to play football at OU but was injured during his senior year in HS and changed his choice to the University of Tulsa. While at TU, he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and sang in the Modern Choir. During his senior year, he met Sally in Modern Choir and after dating for 4 months they became engaged at the Rainbow Room in NYC January, 1971. Larry & Sally married 7 months later on July 17, 1971, in Vinita, Oklahoma.

After graduation from TU, Larry's 1st job was as a history teacher at Oologah High School. After 1 year of teaching, he went to work in the family business where he stayed for the next 30 years. During that time, he became involved with the Downtown Rotary Club of Tulsa. Most notably participating in the weekly bowling league where he was always trying to improve his average and came close to the perfect game scoring a 299. A Paul Harris Fellow and Club Foundation Fellow, the organization gave him some of his closest friends and clients. The Rotary 4 Way Test, would be his anthem.

- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair?
- Does it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

At 50, with 3 daughters getting married in the next 7 months, he found an opportunity to recreate himself and became a self-taught computer/IT consultant.

His new career provided him the opportunity to do things he had always wanted to do. Larry began to mark things off the bucket list on his schedule, on his time, his way. So off to Peru and Machu Picchu cruising down the Amazon he went, to Tahiti, to Baniff, to Botswana, Victoria Falls and South Africa, to NYC, to Costa Rica, to four-wheeling in Colorado, to Kenya & Tanzania, to Alaska, to Portland, Maine, to Rome & Barcelona, to Belize, to Aruba, and the Bahamas.

6 years ago, he created his place of relaxation, his heavenly spot. Adding a pool, a fireplace and firepit just outside of his office. You could find him just about any evening with a cocktail and a cigar. He left us in the best spot he could, his heavenly place doing what he loved on a beautiful Friday afternoon.

We are forever grateful for the teachings, the strength, the travel adventures, the problem-solving, the stories, the laughter, the work ethic, the music, the opinions, the wit, the can-do attitude, the curiosity, the lessons, the appreciation of firework booms, bass, and dance floor moves and much more but mostly for the infinite love of the greatest man who made our world better and brighter doing it his way. We were lucky enough to call him husband, Daddy, Big Daddy, our friend and Larry the computer guy.

A love 49 years strong, from a family of 5 to 8 to 14, and decades of friendships.

A life well lived.

Loved by his wife, Sally of 49 years, daughter Kristen Holder, son-in-law Dustin and grandsons Walker and Colson, daughter Abby Carman, son-in-law Jay and grandchildren Jackson and Grace and daughter Jessie Foley, son-in-law Kevin and grandchildren Sabrina and Clay Daniel.
