Obituary

Larry Wayne Cloyd was born in Cedar Vale, Kansas to Orval and Dolores Cloyd May 8, 1941.

He graduated from Cedar Vale High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959. He served in Madrid Spain until his discharge in 1963.

Larry met the love of his life, Dianne in 1964 and they married December 18th

of that year. They were married for over 50 years until her death in 2015. Together they raised four children while living in Kansas and California before settling in Collinsville, Oklahoma.

He was employed as an inspector by several aircraft companies for many years until his retirement. Following retirement, he drove a school bus for Collinsville Public Schools and was known to the children as Mr. Larry.

Larry was a self taught steel guitar player and performed on the Grand Ole Opry and the popular television show, HeeHaw with the country and western band, Rodney Lay and the Wild West. He was a member of the Steel Guitar Association. As an avid fisherman, he placed first in several bass tournaments with his son, Marty. He also grew a very successful garden. Eating ice cream was his other hobby!

Larry accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized in 1969. He was a very active member of the Collinsville Christian Church serving as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Larry left his earthly life August 26, 2026 from complications of Parkinsons disease and went to meet Jesus in heaven.

He was proceded in death by his father and mother, Orval and Dolores Cloyd, his wife, Dianne Cloyd and brother-in-law, Bob Goldwater.

He is survived by his sister Wanda Goldwater of Wichita, Kansas, brother Roger Cloyd and wife Nancy of Bayard, Nebraska, daughter Michelle Buehler of rural Beggs, son Shon Buehler and wife Jan of Oolagah, daughter Getawn Eberle and husband Bobby of Collinsville and son Marty Cloyd and wife Lora of Tulsa. Grandchildren Carly Chisum, Cayle Chisum, Jeremy Rosenquist, Joshua Buehler, Paisley Myers and Bailey Robison. Great Grandchildren Tabor, Talon, Dylan, Bo, Samuel and Ellie. Great Great Grandchildren Alia and Iris, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was a wonderful example and inspiration to his family and all who knew him. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Memorial Service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Collinsville Christian Church, 1825 W. Union St., Collinsville, OK. For additional information call Moore Southlawn 918-663-2233
