Larry Joe
Dilldine
Apr 21, 1939 — Oct 24, 2026
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Larry Joe Dilldine on October 24, 2026, in Tulsa, OK. Born on April 21, 1939, in Oakland, CA, Larry was a source of generosity and kindness to all who knew him.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Jess Dilldine and Ethel Marie Little Dilldine as well as his dear brother Jack Dilldine and his sister Patty Bensley.
A man of intellect and determination, Larry pursued higher education and graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Phillips University. Armed with knowledge and determination, he embarked on a distinguished career in oil & gas, first with Pan American Petroleum/Standard Oil now known as Amoco, then with Anchor Oil.
After dedicating many years to the field, he embraced a new chapter, following his passion for cycling by opening a bike shop known as Recumbents of Oklahoma in downtown Tulsa. As the first recumbent bike dealer in the region, Larry became well known as the premier place for high-end bikes, exceptional repair work, and excellent service.
Over the years he enjoyed playing tennis, golfing and cycling. Larry participated in multiple Free Wheel events and bike races and enjoyed the camaraderie of other cyclists. His dedication to fitness and competition earned him several medals in the Senior Olympics. He was dedicated to his practice of Tai Chi every day.
He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Smith and her husband Eric, and his grandchildren Morgan Leusby, Joshua Smith and Ty Smith.
Larry is also survived by his two stepchildren Curtis Faulkner and Julie Faulkner, and his siblings Loretta Metscher, Sandra Dilldine, Carol Wedel and Sharon Brittain.
While we honor Larry's wishes of no service, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made to Reading Partners Tulsa, as Larry has always been an avid reader and champion of education. This gesture would also reflect Larry's generous spirit and love of community.
Larry Joe Dilldine touched the lives of many with his kindness and humor. He will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
