Larry Layman, born February 6th, 1937 first day in Heaven May 6, 2018.
Larry was preceded in death by his Father, Willie J. Layman and his mother Agnes Layman. 2 brothers preceded him in death Delmar and Kenneth. 2 grandchildren preceded him into heaven Teddy Woodson and Ryan Shupe.
Larry is survived by his Wife of 59 years Dorothy Layman, 3 daughters Diane and her husband Mike, Julia and her husband Mark, Carrie and her husband Larry. 6 grandchildren LeAnn Shaw, Rusty Woodson, & Pepper Hutchinson in Durango Colorado, Justin Sprinkle, Kevin and Jill Shupe and 2 sisters Kay Perry and Kathy Donnell.
Larry and Dorothy married January 30, 1959, All Larry ever wanted was to have Dorothy all to himself, but Dorothy had 2 baby girls when they married Larry Adopted them soon after they were married and no one could tell who was adopted. Then as soon as his children were grown he had grandchildren, Larry drove to their homes and picked up each of his grandchildren and took them to Church to be sure they knew about Jesus there was no napping on Sunday afternoon he was playing with them or teaching them to work. Dorothy stated he was the best man I have ever known Larry was a quiet man he always said he loved the fact that Dorothy never met a stranger and was never afraid to speak up he never ever spoke publicly
He made Jesus Lord of his life and was buried with him in Baptism along with his daughter Julia in 1973 and he never looked back it changed his life he never missed a church service unless he was sick.
Larry was a man of integrity, he was a master carpenter Larry worked for people all over this town, doing exactly what they wanted done the way they wanted it done the best way it could be done! Quite often he was not compensated for the work he did, but he just dusted off his hands and went on to the next job.
