Larry E. Smith Sr., 70, passed to the Spirit World on July 14, 2026, in Langley, Oklahoma. Larry was born on November 9, 1955, in Orange County, California, and was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Larry is survived by his son, Larry E. Smith Jr.; his daughter, Shawna Renee; his grandchildren, Ocean Nichole, Larry E. Smith III, and Paisley Jade; his great-grandson, Westyn Jay; and his brother, Alan Smith. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette "Peewee" Smith; his mother, Francis Corrine; his father, Marvin Otis; his sister, Cheryl Oakley; and his brother, Ronnie Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1974 to 1976. On March 17, 1978, Larry married the love of his life, Jeanette "Peewee" Smith. Their life together was filled with love, family, and memories that will be cherished forever. Larry was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to helping others. After getting clean and sober on January 7, 1989, he devoted himself to helping others on their own journeys to recovery. He worked as a drug and alcohol counselor until his retirement in 2018. Through his work and his own life experiences, Larry made a positive impact on many people and helped change countless lives for the better. Family meant everything to Larry. He coached his sons' Little League baseball team and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed arguing with his kids and grandkids just for fun. His teasing, humor, and playful spirit created memories that his family will carry with them forever. Larry will be remembered as a hardworking man, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and someone who made a difference in the lives of many. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Though Larry is no longer with us in person, his love, laughter, lessons, and the lives he touched will continue to live on. His family will forever carry the memories of the man who loved them, challenged them, laughed with them, and was always there in his own way. Larry was loved very much, and he will be deeply missed. His Memorial Service will be Sunday August 9, 2026 at 2pm at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home, 9350 E 51st St, Tulsa, OK 74145.
