We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of our dear sweet mother and grandmother Latrice A Sylvester on 1/25/25 in Tulsa,Oklahoma
Latrice Sylvester (Owens) was born June 23rd 1969 to Billie L Owens Sr. and Roberta Pruitt Owens at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento, California the second of four from that union. She graduated class of 1987 from John F Kennedy High School in Sacramento while welcoming her first child shortly before. She married Raymond J Sylvester III in 1988 and continued to expand her family. Latrice in total had 7+ children she raised and loved.
She attended Sacramento City College where she studied business and administration. She was a devoted Christian and attended church regularly in Sacramento. Latrice was a homemaker and caregiver all the way up until her last moments. Her smile was contagious and she knew how to make you laugh. Anyone who has been around her could tell you a story or memory they had with her. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. She overcame many obstacles and would always say I chose LOVE. Her strength will be remembered and carried on. Every morning before running her errands she would take bread or crackers and feed the family of geese that lived near her porch. Music was a big part of her life and she listened to many genres. She loved the sport of boxing and enjoyed attending events. She also loved family get togethers and praised her grandchildren on accomplishments. Latrice will deeply be missed by her children family and people of her community. Her stories will be missed
Death is not the end of life instead it is the beginning of a higher realm of life with the presence of the Lord.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore -

Latrice is proceeded in death by her mother Roberta Pruitt Owens and brother Jermaine Owens. She is survived by her 7 children Darnell, Rayshawn, Arlyshia, Alexandria, Marckell, Jeremiah, Michael and God Son Huey Williams also 5 grandchildren and a host of cousins, aunts and family members.
Funeral Service will be 10AM, Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
