Obituary

Lauren Ashley Hara was born May 2, 1997, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Kurt and Paula Lenaburg. She passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the age of 26. Lauren is survived by her loving husband, Michael Hara, with whom she shared a home in Centerton Arkansas along with her beloved rescue dogs Sandie and Bandit. She shared both a sense of humor and a love of adventure with her father, Kurt, and she had a special bond with her mother Paula, who adored and cherished her. She is also survived by her loving Stepmother Tasha Lenaburg, her grandparents Lavern and Carol Lenaburg, Phillip and Penny Rice, as well as her aunts, uncles and cousins Earl, Kristy, Harli, Ty, Jennifer, Cameron, Grayson, & Hayden.

Lauren always excelled both academically and professionally. She graduated from Owasso High School, and then proudly earned a degree in Industrial Engineering at Oklahoma State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was currently working towards an MBA at Oklahoma State University. She worked for JB Hunt in Bentonville, AR directly out of college and recently went to work for ISACA. In both companies she rapidly made waves. At JB Hunt she quickly went on to win their "Big Hat Hackathon" competition in 2021, which was an entrepreneurial competition where teams came up with innovative solutions to current industry problems. She went on to lead multiple groups within JB Hunt, including being an officer in Toastmasters and founding a creative writing group for veterans. During her master's program, Lauren went on to win several competitions in entrepreneurship. Most recently, her team won first place in the state-wide Love's Entrepreneur's Cup in the graduate high-growth category. She personally won the interview award in the same competition. Lauren loved to serve and to solve the toughest problems that she could find, and she never failed to achieve both of those goals.

Lauren was a devoted wife to her husband Michael, a loving daughter to Kurt and Paula, and a proud dog mom to Sandie and Bandit. Lauren was especially creative and marched to the beat of her own drum. Growing up Lauren loved to try new things. She was a gymnast, tap dancer, ballerina, archer, rock climber, pianist, violinist, clarinetist, artist, and fencer. She loved horses, puppies, camping, hiking, scavenger hunts, games with her family, and time with her friends. She tried soccer, but fell in love with softball. In softball she was a championship pitcher who went by the name "Big Cat" and who many spectators came to watch as she struck out batter after batter on the opposing teams.

Her adventures continued as she met and married Michael, whom she adored. In her life with Michael, she loved to camp, hike, go mountain biking, climb mountains, ride motorcycles, whitewater kayak, play video games, read prolifically, search for the best coffee in every town, grow her garden, dance, play D&D, and care for their beloved rescue dogs. However, if you asked her, she would probably tell you that her favorite part of their lives was being Lead Agent Dangr (pronounced dang-gr). She and Michael called themselves the Dangr Squirrels from the earliest days of their relationship. She always liked anything spy related, so the Dangr Squirrels are a spy organization with every family member having their own roles and titles. Their motto is "live dangrous," which means that things will go wrong, but by turning towards each other they would make even the most unexpected roadblock into another fun memory. They called that approach "living dangrous," and it encapsulates so much of why Lauren brought joy into the lives of everyone she touched.

Lauren and Michael celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary on August 13, 2023. Michael was the love of Lauren's life, and they were an amazing team.

In Lauren's short time, she traveled all over the world, achieved a high academic status, gave back to her community, brought joy to all who knew her, and served Jesus wholeheartedly. Lauren committed her life to Jesus at a young age, and she lived her life to show others the boundless love and grace of God.

Lauren's memorial service will take place at 10 AM, Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
