Laurita Cowan Cowell, passed away May 8, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born October 31, 1928 in Arkansas to Walter and Valeria Cowan.

Laurita was married to Wilburn "Bill" L. Cowell, she was a retired head cook for Tulsa Pubic Schools, she and Bill were avid square dancers, loved water aerobics where she formed many lasting friendships and enjoyed the women's group at church and her book club and a longtime member of Yale Ave Christian Church.

Laurita was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Jones.

She is survived by her husband Wilburn "Bill" Cowell, Son: Ron Cowell & wife Jane, Daughter: Valerie L. Corgill & husband Gary, 4 Grandchildren: Ryan and Kevin Cowell, Katie Corgill and Tim Brophy and Margie Richardson and Nate, 2 Great Grandchildren: Jude and Clark Brophy, Brother: Dale Cowan and Janie and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

There will be a visitation 5-7pm, Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st - Tulsa, OK; Graveside will be at Deer Cemetery in Deer, Arkansas at 11am, Friday May 12, 2017; and Memorial Service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Yale Ave Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, family request Memorial Contributions be made to Yale Ave Christian Church in Laurita's name.
