Obituary

Laverne Clinton Carter, 82, passed away at home on May 10, 2020 after a valiant effort to recover from a stroke earlier this year. His loving life-partner of 28 years, Linda Cross, was at his side.

Laverne was born on March 10, 1938 in Fremont, IA. He moved to Tulsa with his family as a teenager and graduated from Will Rogers High School.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Clinton Carter and Litta Bower-Carter; and tragically by his wife Jean Cummings-Carter and two young daughters, Jeanette (9) and Carolyn (5) in 1969; and his brother, Myron Carter. He is survived by his son Wayne Clinton Carter, and grandson, Tyler Carter; and brother, Leon Carter and his wife, Kelli, and sisters, Donna Crawford and Shirley Wilhelm.

Laverne was an entrepreneur in Tulsa for over 45 years operating All-Temp Heating & Air with his son, Wayne. Previously, he owned Carter's Laundromat on Memorial Drive, and two stores in the Fontana Center, Rings & Things and Candles, Gifts, Etc., as well as several real estate properties. He had a strong group of longtime friends who met daily for lunch and took weekend daytrips riding their custom V8 Trikes. He will be dearly missed by many.

Services will be held at Moore Funeral Home at a future date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Hospice 918-744-7223
