Vera LaVerne Hottel Jameson, age 96 of Monticello, Arkansas previously of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away at her home Tuesday, September 15, 2026. She was born November 2, 1929, in Strafford, Oklahoma to George Louie Hottel and Vera Mae Lunsford Hottel. LaVerne was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa before moving to Monticello and becoming a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She retired from Bank of Oklahoma after thirty-eight years of employment in the credit department. LaVerne enjoyed attending the senior center and her Sunday school class, playing bingo, puzzles, spending time with her family, and bringing joy to those around her. She found great joy in caring for others and had a special way of making people feel remembered and loved. Whether it was a birthday, holiday, milestone, or simply a moment worth celebrating, she could always be counted on to have a card or thoughtful little gift ready.
In addition to her parents LaVerne is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Paul Jameson; one brother, Louie Carol Hottel; son, Curtis Jameson; daughter, Debbie Jameson; and special friend Rand Harrison.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan Russell and husband Chad; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Chapel in Tulsa, OK. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvery Baptist in Monticello, Arkansas.
