Pitts, Lavine Jr., 83, longtime Tulsa automobile dealer, passed away Saturday April 20, 2013. Lavine was born March 15, 1930, to Lavine & Chloe (Howerton) Pitts. Lavine was a 1948 Graduate of Will Rogers High School. He attended OU on an Athletic Scholarship (baseball & basketball). By 1960 he owned and operated his own GM dealership in Nowata.
He later returned to Tulsa opening Pitts Motor Co. on S. Memorial continuing his legacy over 60 years. Lavine was known for his quiet, kind manner, integrity, sense of humor,and love for family.
Lavine is survived by: daughter Debbie Geisler, her husband, Steve, Big Cabin, Ok; son Ron Pitts, his wife, Kathy, Tulsa, Ok; grandchildren Mandy, Jenny, her husband, David, and Chet, his wife Caroline; great grandchildren Max, Maddox & Macie; brother Lee Ivan Pitts, his wife, Barbara, Grove, Ok. Lavine was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marcy & great granddaughter, Abby Dunham.
