Lela Lorene Dobson was born August 10th, 1926 in Ketchum, Oklahoma. She passed from this life, peacefully, with her daughters by her side on May 10th, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was the second child born to Fred Mason Allen and Bertha Brooks Allen.
On September 21st, 1946, she married Robert Owen Trundle. The couple followed the apple harvest and they briefly made their home in Chelan, Washington. It was here that they welcomed their two daughters, Linda Marie and Donna Kay.
When the family moved back to Oklahoma they made their home on the Sand Springs line. Lela went to work for the Tulsa World & Tribune where she stayed until her retirement in 1989. Lela and Robert shared 31 years of marriage until his death in 1978.
Lela married Walker Dobson in June of 1984 and they were married until his death in 1991.
Lela was a long time member of First Baptist Church Tulsa. She loved spending time with friends and staying active in the community. In 2014 she received her Lifetime Membership Award from the Southside Civitan club. She also spent many Christmas seasons ringing the bells for the Salvation Army.
Lela is survived by her daughters Linda Murdock and husband Lowell of Tulsa, Kay Berryhill and husband Shelby of Collinsville, Ok. Granddaughters Rachel Evans and husband Cris of Sperry, Ok. Brooke Scanlan and husband Brandon of AAFB, MD. And Great granddaughter Paxton Scanlan also of AAFB MD.
Two brothers Paul Allen and wife Sue of Ketchum. David Allen and wife Sondra of Sand Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Fred, Jr, Bill, Cecil, John and Jackie Owen. Two sisters, Betty Jeske, and Mary Ellen Allen. One grandson Jeffery Murdock and two husbands. Owen Trundle and Walker Dobson.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Transitions Life Care Hospice for their wonderful care during the last phase of Lela's life.
Visitation will be Sunday, 5/14/2017, 3 -5pm with Service 10am, Monday 5/15/2017 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St. Tulsa, OK
