Lelia Beatrice Thompson Oakley, age 89, passed away April 12, 2021 surrounded by her husband and children.
Bea was born on March 28, 1932 to Raymond and Edith Thompson in Pryor, Oklahoma where she attended elementary school. She attended Lowell Junior High School and Central High School in Tulsa.
Bea married Thomas A. Oakley on February 28, 1948 and they enjoyed 73 years together. Bea was a loving and faithful mother and grandmother to two children, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Bea enjoyed many weekends fishing and boating with friends Mary Lou and Pat on Fort Gibson lake. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to crochet. Bea also loved animals and provided a good home for countless dogs over the years including Teddy, Annie, Gretel and Mollie.
Bea is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Oakley; son, Thomas A. Oakley, Jr. and wife Doreen; grandson, John Dustin Oakley and wife Debra; great-grandchildren, Hope Humphrey, Ethan and Lily Oakley grandson Matt Wood and wife Alyssa and great-grandchildren, Lyla and Lucy Wood; son, John Raymond Oakley and wife Debbie; granddaughter Cheryl Price, great-grandchildren Matthew, Jonah, Isaac, and Johnny Price; granddaughter Michelle Hobbs, great-grandchildren, Alex and Samantha Merrill and Chrisy Hobbs; sister-in-law, Joanna Clark; and many nieces and nephews.
Bea was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Jerry Thompson. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery on April 16, 2021.
