Leon H. Ward, Jr., 32, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 1977, in a boating accident at Table Rock Lake, Barry County, MO. He was born on Thursday, January 4, 1945, in Enid, OK, to Leon H. "L. H." Ward, Sr. and Velma C. (Brandenberger) Ward. Leon was a great person who graduated from Tulsa Rogers High School and attended Oklahoma State University where he was a star football player. He also played professional football with the Baltimore Colts in the NFL. Leon was married to Carolyn (Freyaldenhoven) Ward. He is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Jeff Ward and Danny Ward; daughter, Katie Ward, all of Tulsa, OK; his parents; brother, John Ward of Jay, OK; sister, Mrs. Margaret Taylor of Tulsa, OK; and a lifetime of friends. Leon will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
