Obituary

Leonard Lee (Nute) Nightingale was called to his heavenly home on August 8, 2016. Leonard was born February 16th, 1928, in Sand Springs, OK to Anna & Andrew Nightingale, the youngest of (11) children. He graduated from Central High in 1946 and was drafted into the Army in 1950 where he proudly served during the Korean War. ' In 1956, he met & married the love of his life, Joan Pope and had (4) children. He loved world travel, horse racing and spending time with his family & grandchildren. Leonard was in the steel construction industry for over 50 years and the well-respected owner of Nightingale, LLC.
Survived by his wife, Joan, his daughter, Cindy Whitehead and her husband, Jim and their daughter Erin; his son, Danny and his wife, Mary Beth; his son, Mark and his wife, Diana and their children, Alexa and Austin of Rowlett TX; his son, Steve and his wife, Rebecca and their children, Sam and Rachel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Pius X School Capital Fund or Alzheimer's Association.
The family wishes to thank the Claremore Veteran's Center staff for the excellent care he received during his residence there as an Alzheimer's patient.
