Obituary

Leonard (Len) Cecil Smith, 64, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on May 23rd of 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Len was born in beautiful Cody, Wyoming in January of 1961 and adopted by his loving parents, Bob and Joyce Smith and brother Leo. Shortly thereafter the family transitioned to the less beautiful Brownfield, Texas and finally settled in the Tulsa area with the addition of his younger sister Martha. The family found a home in Inola and more importantly a sincere and lasting faith in Christ who shaped Len's future for years to come. During this time, another young woman sought to steal a portion of Len's heart. LaNeta Roles successfully struck her claim and they were married in May of 1981.
After graduating from TU, Len and LaNeta spent a few years in town where Len began his career as an accountant. They added a couple of additions to the family with their two sons, Hunter and Denver before setting off in search of new opportunities. The transition landed them in desolate Challis, Idaho and a road that would shape the next couple of decades as Len began work in the copper mining industry. Len and LaNeta added one more child to the mix with their daughter KiLynn and began moving back and forth between Arizona and Idaho before eventually settling down in Phoenix, Arizona.
Len and LaNeta pushed their kids through school and moved back to Tulsa in 2007 in order to help with aging family. From here Len became a foundation of support both for the generation above him and the ones below. Len actively supported his children through multiple marriages across several continents and through the births of his eight grandchildren.
But most importantly through all of this time was the relationship he had with his Savior. Len came to faith as a young child watching the influence of God in the lives of his parents. This faith grew in Len over the years and drove the decisions and choices he made. This faith led him to reach out to people across all levels to provide support, a listening ear, and gentle advice all with a little bit (or a lot) of his unique humor mixed in. Len is now with his Lord providing witty and sarcastic comments as joyful commentary.
Len is survived by his wife - LaNeta, sister - Martha, children - Hunter, Denver, KiLynn, Natalie, and Erin, and his grandchildren - Quinn, Fynn, Wyatt, Everest, Stetson, Maverick, Liam, and Lilly.
Funeral services will be held at Moore Funeral Home on May 29th at 10:00 AM with Pastor Joe Blankenship of Springs of Grace Bible Church officiating.
