Leroy Kenneth Peaster, age 95, passed away peacefully on October 27th in Bartlesville Oklahoma. Leroy was born to Leroy Leon and Cora Adel (Watson) Peaster on May 8, 1923 in Murray County in Oklahoma.
Leroy, known as Kenneth to his family, grew up on a dairy farm where he learned his diligent work ethic. Leroy graduated from high school and started his secondary studies in the area of mechanical and structural engineer with emphasis on structural engineering.
He married the love of his life, Edna Earle Matthews, on January 14, 1945. They were married for 65 years before she preceded him in death on February 25, 2010.
Leroy went to work for Lee C Moore, a Woolslayer Company, in Tulsa in 1944. He started in the shop then moved his way up using his mechanical and structural talents to design and build numerous Oil Rigs and various other projects for the company. Leroy was a loyal and dedicated employee that was a mentor to many. He worked 45 years before retiring and an additional 8 years of contract work after retirement for the company due to his expertise. It was recently stated when you drive through the Middle East you can see projects still standing that were designed by Leroy.
Leroy was not only dedicated to his wife and work, but also to his neighbors in Tulsa on 32nd Place in where he and Edna built the home he lived in for 59 years. They were the true definition of what a good neighbor should be. Whether picking up mail, watering plants or borrowing tools from Leroy's garage, neighbors knew they were covered with the Peasters nearby.
Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, parents and siblings; Inez May Brooks, Lillian Chandler, Otto, George, Howard, Alfred and Alvin Peaster.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews along with numerous friends including his "second family" the Wilburns and Carters.
The service will be Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel located at 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, OK 74145. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
