Lillian Albert Wair "Lil," 97, passed away January 15, 2016. She was a native Tulsan born on March 31, 1918, to Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Albert, Sr. She was named "Lillian Amelia" after her two grandmothers. With the exception of a short time in Wichita, Kansas, she lived in Tulsa all her life.
A 1936 graduate of Central High School, Lil was a member of Tau Phi Gamma. After graduation, she went to work for Midcontinent Map Company and later Gulf Oil Corporation.
Lil was married at Treasure Island in San Francisco to Roy C. Wair in 1943. They had one son, Michael Albert Wair, in 1952. Lil and Roy's marriage lasted 63 years before he preceded her in death in 2006.
Lil was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, which she joined in 1930 at the age of 12. She served as president of XYZ, a senior citizens organization, as well as working for Helping Hands for many years. Lil also belonged to Landettes, the women's organization for landmen, Christian Fellowship Class at First Presbyterian and P.E.O. International, an organization for the advancement of women by women.
In addition to her parents, Lil was preceded in death by her brother, E. R. Albert, Jr., and her sister, Patricia Nielsen.
She is survived by her son, Michael; nieces and nephews, Myrna and Johnnie Parks, Teresa Wair, Judy and Paul Kantor, Jan and Charles Deatherage, Chris and Joyce Nielsen, John and Karen Nielsen, and Donna and Brian Middleton, all of whom she cherished.
Visitation will be 5-7 P.M., Monday, January 18, 2016 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
