Obituary

Linda Louise Akins, age 72 and resident of Bixby, OK, departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at her home. Linda was born on July 9, 1947 in Tulsa, OK and was the daughter of John and Mary Reasor. She grew up in Duncan, OK where she attended Duncan Public Schools and later earned her diploma at Banning Community Adult School in Wilmington, CA in June of 1971. She worked many years in the Electrical Components Industry at Thomas & Betts in Tulsa, OK and she finished her career in the Power Systems Industry as a Wiring Technician at Russelectric in Broken Arrow, OK. Some of her favorite things to do over the years included bowling, shooting pool, listening to classic country music, two-step and line-dancing, shopping, reading, playing dominoes and Rummikub, and watching Hallmark movies and Live PD. She also loved attending craft fairs and making crafts of various sorts with her long-time best friend, Jean Morgan.

Linda was a devoted and loving mom that enjoyed daily phone calls and spending time with her daughters. She was a very proud grandma and bragged about her wonderful grandsons to all her friends and loved ones. She spent her final years as a resident of the Autumn Park Retirement Community in Bixby, OK where she made many wonderful friends and enjoyed participating in different activities together with them.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Reasor as well as her son, Jeffrey Allen Akins and her son-in law, Doug Cooper. She is survived by her daughter, Angela Cooper of Broken Arrow, OK, her daughter Kelly Tennyson and husband Jason of Dallas, TX; her three grandsons, Robbie Tennyson of Atlanta, GA, Tyler Tennyson of Oklahoma City, OK and Jordan Tennyson of Dallas, TX; her brother, Steve Reasor of Duncan, OK and her sister, Kathy Tucker and husband Bill of Guthrie, OK; her nieces, Karen Brown and Cynthia Reasor-Merritt and her nephew, Shane Campbell.

A memorial service celebrating Linda's life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Moore Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa, OK, officiated by Pastor Larry DeLay of Crossroads Fellowship Church of Bixby, OK.

A catered reception for family, friends and loved ones will be held at the same location immediately following her service.

An interment of her ashes will be held privately for her family at a later date still to be determined at Duncan Cemetery.
