Obituary

Linda Kay Cates passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Linda was born on October 5, 1947, in Tulsa to Buddie and Eula Maxwell.

She is survived by her mother, daughter, Tanya Fore and husband Eric, sister, Patty Davis and husband John, and stepchildren, Sandy Murphy and Sherron Spinks.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, Buddie Maxwell, and her husband, Raymond Cates.

After attending Oklahoma Business College, Linda started her career at Byron Jackson Pumps and later joined PetroMark. In 1988, she joined the Tulsa County Clerks Office where she worked as Second Deputy for and with Joan Hastings. Linda retired from the Tulsa County Clerks Office in 2014.

Linda enjoyed traveling abroad, especially in Europe and the Middle East. She was active in Republican politics, member of Republican Women's Club and she was an avid supporter of the Tulsa Dirt Track Legends, Tulsa Speedway, Tulsa Boys' Home and the Tulsa Oilers.

Her family gives special thanks to her long-time caregiver, Sandie Porter, and her cousin, Janey Winford.

Jim Ramsey, Seniors' Minister, from Eastland Baptist Church, will officiate Linda's funeral at Moore Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm.
