Linda J. Greenwood passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017, in her Tulsa home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Carl and Lucille Messmer on November 27, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her sister, Elizabeth Hulsizer, and her brother-in-law, Doug Smith preceded her in death.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Andrew Greenwood, of 56 years; her supportive siblings, Carl Messmer, Jr., and wife, Gerri, Lynette Smith, and Becky Cargill and husband, Stephen; her brother-in-law, Gearld Hulsizer; her cherishing children, Cathey and Tony Armstrong, and DeeDee and Kevin Winterberg; her grateful grandchildren, Heather and Cody Sensintaffar, Chase and Heidi Winterberg, Blake Armstrong, Bryce Armstrong, Caylee Winterberg, and Brooklyn Armstrong; and her adoring great-grandchildren, Isaac Sensintaffar, Ayden Winterberg, Griffin Sensintaffar, Nolan Sensintaffar, and Adelyn Winterberg.
Linda was Office Manager at her family-owned business, Greenacres Memorial Gardens, for 35 years. Linda led a fulfilling life. Her grandchildren and great- grandchildren were her passion. Yet, she was a selfless and nurturing caregiver to countless others. Linda's strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was the life force and matriarch of an enormous network of friends and family. She also enjoyed growing beautiful flowers in her garden and throwing strikes at the bowling alley. Her friends and family will miss her deeply.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Moore Southlawn Chapel. Linda's loved ones will then celebrate her life at a memorial service at Sheridan Christian Center on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
