Obituary

HOFFMAN, Linda Sue Elam Carpenter, 72, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Tulsa, OK after a well fought battle with cancer, Linda has gone to see loved ones, and lead the way for those left behind.

She was born Linda Sue Whisman to her mother, Lillian Borror and father, Wilburn Whisman. She was a loving wife, mother, step-mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
Linda worked as office manager and inside sales representative for Flo-Bend a manufacturer of Oil Refinery products from 1963 until 1990 when she began her own business, Carpenter Metals, Inc.

Linda loved going to the lake, boating, and fishing; going to grandkids ball games. She enjoyed entertaining, dancing, and loved family gatherings. She loved animals. She had a great sense of humor and quick wit. Most of all, she loved to make others happy and was very kind and had a loving heart. When people would come to her door asking for a donation she would always donate no matter what it was for; she was active in the Salvation Army as a supporter. She enjoyed personal time with her husband just watching TV and relaxing. She was an avid reader and owned fourteen Kindles and she would either lose them or give them away to others. Her brother, Dale Whisman, is an author, playwright and actor and she enjoyed reading his work.

Survived by her loving husband, Dempsey Hoffman of the home; son, Talmadge "Tal" Elam of Tulsa, OK; daughters, Pamela Elam of Sand Springs, OK; and Julie Thomas of Tulsa, OK; step-son, Anthony Hoffman and wife, Cheryl of Berryhill, OK; step-daughters, Cindy Cook and husband, Gary; Jeannie Gran and husband, Chuck, both of Tulsa, OK; and Melody Rager and husband, Matthew of Fishers, IN; brother, Dale Whisman and wife, Sherry of Tulsa, OK; grandsons, Logan Thomas of Tulsa, OK, and Noah (Gus) Espinosa of Claremore, OK; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.

Viewing will be from 1-6 PM. Family will receive friends from 4-6 PM; Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Memorial service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, December 8, 2014 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Family suggests contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
