Linda Marie (Kozikuski) Smith passed from this world to her reward on June 18, 2026. Her final moments were spent with her daughter and granddaughter, listening to her favorite Dolly Parton and Elvis Presely songs, before reuniting in Heaven with her husband of 46 years, William "Smitty" Smith.
Linda was born on August 11, 1949 in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Frank Kozikuski and Patricia Stephenson Casey. Linda was the eldest girl of the family and grew up with five other siblings: Franky Kozikuski, Bill Kozikuski, Mary (Kozikuski) Reed, Rita (Kozikuski) Young, Eddie Kozikuski, and had another sibling who passed as an infant. The Kozikuski family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when Linda was a young girl, where the brothers and sisters ran wild together, took care of each other, and made memories to last a lifetime.
After finishing school in Tulsa, Linda worked many different jobs as a young adult. She had her first child, Michael Dewayne Silver, in August 1967. Soon after, Linda welcomed her second son, Marcus Dale Silver, in March 1969. While raising her sons and supporting them by working at a bail bond office during the day and bartending at nights, her life changed forever when she met her husband, Smitty. Smitty was quickly smitten with Linda, and became a natural father to her two young boys, Michael and Marcus.
Smitty and Linda bought a home off Admiral and Sheridan in Tulsa and were married shortly after in their home on March 19, 1977. Smitty and Linda welcomed their baby girl, Kate Marie, in August 1977. Kate was the apple of their eye as their youngest and only daughter.
In August 1978, Linda started what would be a lifelong career when she joined the City of Tulsa as a Parking Enforcement Officer. The City of Tulsa added a team of 8 people to be the newest "Parking Investigators" and provided them with the power of a citation pad and plethora of tickets, ranging from $5 to $10, to spread around. As she explained to the Tulsa World, who covered her career on several occasions, she wanted to be somewhere she could work outside and stay active. Linda wrote an average of 13,000 citations a year walking the streets of downtown Tulsa. She quickly gained a reputation for herself in the 1980s and 1990s, as downtown Tulsa workers would rush out of office buildings to pay their meter or attempt to convince her to halt her pen on the citation pad. Even though Linda might not have been everyone's favorite person to see strolling down the street during meter hours, she spread positivity to all she encountered and was thankful to work outdoors, get exercise, and make friends with many City "regulars."
Linda and Smitty spent their days working hard at their physically demanding careers, while also raising their kids and grandkids, providing their growing family with unconditional love and a safe place to land. After Linda retired from the City of Tulsa, she was able to spend more time doing her favorite thing: being a grandma. She and Smitty lived for the weekends of having the grandkids over at their house. Linda was known as the neighborhood "Grandma Linda" to everyone and wore this title with great pride. In her later years, she was blessed enough to watch her great-grandchildren grow up and spoil them to no end.
She will be missed fiercely by many, including: sister, Rita Young & brother, Bill Kozikuski; son, Marcus Silver; and daughter, Kate Webster. Linda's grandchildren are Michael Silver, Jamie Cook, Ariel Boren, Kayla Ramirez, Valerie Silver, Alexis Hood, Emma Ridenour, and Brady Webster. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Andie Hood, Grahm Ramirez, Max Hood, and Taytum Ramirez.
Linda will be greeted in the afterlife by her husband Smitty, her parents, multiple siblings, and her son, Michael Silver.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m at Moore Funeral Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life for Linda will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, Linda will be laid to rest next to her husband at 4:00 p.m. at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma.
