Obituary

Native son Lindsay Lee Alexander left this life Wednesday March 4th. He was 86. The Oklahoma
panhandle town of Guymon is where parents Sue and Clarence Duncan Alexander welcomed Lindsay into
life on November 23, 1928. During his time on this earth, Lindsay drew an abundance of strength from the
love of his parents, and grandparents Bettie and Frank on his mother's side, and Pinina and James Alexander on his dad's.
Lindsay's upbringing in Guymon instilled in him an ethic of hard work, integrity and friendship, that set a path of education, career, athletics, military service, family, artistic endeavor, travel, volunteering and philanthopy. Studies at Wentworth Military academy and degrees earned in banking at The Wharton School and Louisiana State University, as well as degrees in industrial psychology and business as a Sooner at OU, along with time as a first lieutenant in the US Army, were the foundation of a career with The First National Bank and Trust Company of Tulsa, where he became vice president.

Behind every great man, is always a great woman, and for Lindsay that was his beloved late wife Rosalie. Their union formed a power couple of the first order, lending time and talents to professional and civic groups including Salvation Army, Tulsa Ballet, Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa Philharmonic, Tulsa Opera, Junior League and others. Together they raised daughter Ann, and were further blessed when Ann Lindsay Lee Alexander birth to grandson Taylor, who also precedes Lindsay in death.

Ann's daughters Lindsay and Chase would see Lindsay become patriarch of a clan including great grandchildren Chris, Carter Ann, Corbin and Kaleb. Lindsay's love for his family also extended to a wide circle of friends, and he organized fun informal social clubs such as the RASCALS and ROMEOS. The Committee of 100, Philcrest Tennis Club and the Oklahoma Cancer Society were all organizations in which Lindsay was active. A longtime member of Southern Hills and avid tennis player, Lindsay was active as chairman and founder of the Scissortail Tennis Invitational, as well as co-chairman on committees hosting the US Open and PGA tourneys. Lindsay's love of the arts earned him an honorary lifetime membership with the Tulsa Civic Ballet, a board membership with Theatre Tulsa, see him as Director Emeritus at Thomas Gilcrease Museum, and inspire him to create a great many of his own artworks, the subjects of which were always a glimpse into what he held dear in his heart. Lindsay's affinity for Scottish culture, penguins and travel was well known to his friends and family.
