On the afternoon of July 8, 2014 Lisa, age 55, passed away after a long illness. She was born in Bartlesville, OK on December 13, 1958 to Robert Lee Brians and Jennie Ellen Brians. Her mother was fond of saying, "You never have to wonder what is on Lisa's mind because she's already told you." Lisa shared her father's passion for music. After moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1971 Lisa was active in both her school and church choirs until graduating from Nathan Hale High School in 1977, but her love of music continued all her life.
She was completely dedicated to her family and friends. Lisa was never happier than when she had her loved ones around. She was friendly to all and stranger to none. She was generous, enjoyed travelling, and was devoted to her furry four-legged family members. Perhaps most importantly, she had a knack for taking the children in her life under her wing and making sure they felt loved and cherished. This is her legacy. The lives she made better by simply opening her heart will ripple through time influencing others for generations to come.
She is survived by her loving husband John Michael Basham, daughter and son-in-law Shannon and Aaron Whisner, brother and sister-in-law Kenneth Brians and Donna Brians, sister and brother-in-law Janet and William Cook, brother Greg, soon to be granddaughter Eva Whisner, and many nieces and nephews.
Lisa was preceded in death by husband Gary Maul, mother Jennie Brians, father Robert Brians, and son Jeffery Maul.
Services will be held Friday, 10am, July 11, 2014 at Moore Funeral Home - Eastlawn Chapel 1908 S. Memorial, Tulsa, OK. A visitation will take place Thursday evening between 6 and 8pm.
