Lloyd Elmer Matthews, Sr., 74, of Tulsa, OK, formerly of Muskogee, OK, passed away Saturday, October 23, 1976, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK. He was born on Monday, February 24, 1902, in Rhea, AR, to John Matthews and Cynthia (Farley) Matthews. Lloyd was married to Eula (Stewart) Matthews, was a retired, self-employed, wholesale tobacco salesman, and a member of Masonic Oriental Lodge #430, in Muskogee, OK. He is survived by his wife, Eula of the home; two sons, Lloyd Matthews, Jr. of Tulsa, OK, and Jack Matthews of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Mrs. Jim (Jayne) Spence of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ina Matthews of Muskogee, OK, Audrey Matthews of Muskogee, OK, and Mrs. Velma Ponder of Riverside, CA; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
