Celebrating the Life of Logan Meier

Logan Jeffrey Meier was born on October 15, 1988, in Hoffman Estates, IL. He entered heaven on January 1, 2017 at the age of 28, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was the beloved, oldest son of Cal and Judi Meier, adored by his big sister Whitney and younger brother Carson. He was dearly loved by grandparents Larry and Mary Metz, and Cal and Janet Meier, along with aunts and uncles David and Debbie Meier; Billy and Heide Meier; Jerry and Becky Stoddard; David and Sheila Metz; Steve and Kim Metz; and cousins Lindsay, Grayson, Jessica, Carly, D.J., Michael, Derek, Rachel, Cory, and Christian.

In his early childhood, Logan attended Darnaby Elementary School where he loved playing baseball for the Darnaby Rangers. He also made a daily tradition of front yard football and basketball games with neighborhood buddies. In middle school Logan attended Union Public Schools where he enjoyed playing on the basketball team. He was also selected to serve as a ballboy during the greatest years of the University of Tulsa men's basketball program. He attended Union High School through his Sophomore year, where he participated on the Union men's golf team. Logan transferred to Metro Christian Academy for his Junior and Senior years, where he played guard on the Metro Patriots basketball team. He graduated from Metro in 2007.

After graduating high school, Logan attended Tulsa Community College and Oklahoma State University. At the age of 21 he made the brave choice to serve his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He spent one year in combat in Southeast Afghanistan. His time there brought great pride to his family and made America safer for all of us.

When he was stateside, Logan was based at Fort Campbell, KY. After returning from his tour in Afghanistan, he met and married Jenna Beauvais who deeply adored him. They were married 3 1/2 years.

Logan was a kind and tenderhearted young man. He was good-natured with a competitive spirit. He made a friend of nearly everyone he met with a gift to spark interesting and intelligent conversation and a wonderful sense of humor.

Some of his favorite activities included basketball, weightlifting, and simply enjoying chips and salsa while watching crime shows and documentaries. He also loved to watch football and basketball games. His favorite football teams were OU and OSU, and, for basketball, his loyalty was with University of Tulsa and Oklahoma City Thunder. He had a gift when it came to golf and basketball. Both his golf swing and his jump shot were enviable.

Logan had a love for fantasy football and poker. He had uncanny luck and often walked away the winner in both.

One of his most treasured friends was his fat, loving black lab, Roxy.

Logan dreamed of one day becoming a detective. His family's faith helps them to believe that he has now solved one great mystery because he knows the peace and wonder of being home in heaven with God. His beautiful blue eyes and big heart will be missed by friends and family back here on Earth.
