Lois Eleanor Fitzgerald Benne was born March 10, 1936 in Edmond, OK to Cecil and Edith Fitzgerald. She went home to be with the Lord March 12, 2025 in Tulsa, OK.
She is predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Edith Fitzgerald and by her brothers, Reece Fitzgerald, Stanley Fitzgerald, Wayne Fitzgerald, and Eldon Fitzgerald and by her sister, Earlene Baxter.
On December 28, 1953, she married the love of her life, Lewis Edward Benne, and enjoyed 34 years of marriage before his death on May 14, 1988. She is survived by her children: Beverly and husband, George Peck of Skiatook, OK; Michael Benne and wife, June of Omaha, AR; Douglas Benne and wife, Brenda of Luther, OK; and Darlene and husband, David Martinez of Tulsa, OK. Her grandchildren are Russell Peck of Lakewood, CO, Audrey Peck of Tulsa, OK, Sarah Widowski of Broken Arrow, OK; Betty Jo Lange (Deceased), James Lange of Omaha, AR, Lucinda Baysinger of Marshall, AR; David Benne of Luther, OK, Robert Benne of Lewisville, TX, Jesse Benne of Edmond, OK; Amelia Martinez of Tulsa, OK, and Zoey Martinez of Tulsa, OK. Lois has numerous great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Lois was a homemaker much of her life. Later in life, she held secretarial positions at OSFA, at EEOC, and Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech.
Lois loved the Lord and served as a Deacon at First Presbyterian in Edmond, then was a charter member of Santa Fe Presbyterian in Edmond. After Moving to Tulsa, she was a member of Harvard Avenue Christian Church.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Moore Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa. Services will be held 10:00 am, Friday, March 21, 2025 at Harvard Avenue Christian Church, 5502 S. Harvard Ave., Tulsa, OK, followed by a service and burial at 3:00 pm at Gracelawn Cemetery Pavilion, 1407 N. Boulevard, Edmond, OK.
