During World War Two, Lois moved to Sacramento, CA with her family so that her Dad, Clifford (Cliff) could work at McClennan Field to help in the war effort. It is here that she met the love of her life, Walter (Walt) Freeman who had moved to California after graduating from high school in Afton, Oklahoma. Walt went to work for his Uncle Harry while he was waiting to be drafted into the Army Air Corp. Lois and Walt were married in September of 1943 in Rapid City, South Dakota and eventually moved Tulsa where Walt worked for Parrish & Clark Dodge for nearly 40 years. Together they raised three sons who still live in the area.

Lois's greatest dedication and joy was in raising her three sons. She loved to travel and took family vacations every summer in their travel trailer. Usually they would travel along with Lois's sister, Ardis and her husband Vernon and their two boys, Neil and Larry. Her favorite vacations were to the mountains in Colorado, Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park and the Black Hills of South Dakota. The family also visited other places including the World's Fair in New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago and Florida. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting many places in Europe.

Lois's favorite social event was square dancing on weekends with Walt and her sister Ardis and husband Vernon. The evenings usually ended with a trip to Shakey's Pizza.

Lois lived a long and good, full life. Her greatest disappointment and her son's lament was having to live the last almost 42 years of her life without her husband Walt. She missed him beyond measure.

Lois was a strong lady of faith who outlived virtually every contemporary family member and friend. She survived scarlet fever as a child, cancer, a stroke, a flood where she lost almost everything and the loss of her husband. Supported by her family and the blessings of relatively good health she finished her long life of 101 years and was set free to be with her beloved husband and many other loved ones. She will be greatly missed.
