Lois Jean Warren
Born 8/6/1940 in New Eagle, PA, Jean was the daughter of Lloyd and Hilda Hormell. She was the middle sister to Patty, Lee, Lloyd, Kay, and Carol. Jean met John Warren, the love of her life, at a dance when they were both 14. They were married and remained together for 70 years becoming parents to six children: Kathy, Linda, Johnnie, Bob, Chris, and Jeff. Jean was also blessed to have been an aunt, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and was delighted to be able to welcome her first great- great-grandchild.
While never wealthy, Jean's home was always warm and welcoming. Though she would lament that she was a terrible cook, the kitchen was the center of her home, and the table was always ready to add another plate or two. She was always ready to spend time with you, to play a game, watch that show (often while "resting her eyes"), or just listen to how your day was going. She made you feel loved and made holidays special using little more than her imagination, shredded paper confetti, and assorted snacks.
Jean's love for children was also reflected in her choice of career, childcare. She taught toddlers at Crosstown Learning Center for 35 years and gave her heart to every child that was privileged to have been in her care. She was the queen of "ditties" and made every task a little more fun by adding a song to it. Her preschoolers were always developmentally ahead and when asked why, she responded, "if you expect a lot, you get a lot."
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at the Moore Funeral Home at 9350 E 51st Street, Tulsa, OK on March 21, 2025 at 2 p.m.
