Loreita Sittel Pascoe died January 4, 2015. Loreita was born August 17, 1927, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Clarence W. and Veita Sittel. She was a graduate of McAlester High School, class of 1945. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Oklahoma A&M College (OSU) in 1949. She married Loie A. Pascoe, Jr., on August 23, 1949, in McAlester, and together they raised three children, first in Fairfax and then in Tulsa where they moved in 1957. Loreita taught first and second grades for 17 years in Tulsa Public Schools, including tenures at Chouteau, McClure and Audubon elementary schools. Loreita retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, where she and Pascoe hosted countless gatherings of family and friends at their lakeshore home, before moving to Tulsa's Inverness Village in 2004. Loreita was a longtime member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and sang in the choir. Loreita later joined Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.
Loreita was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Loie A. Pascoe, Jr., in 2006, and by a son, Loie A. Pascoe, III, in 1994. She is survived by a daughter, Paula Brown, of Tulsa; a son, Neal and Debra Pascoe, of Broken Arrow; a granddaughter, Corey and Matt Thornblad, of Arlington, Virginia; three grandsons, Cody Brown and Silvana Srdoc, of Zagreb, Croatia; Jeff Pascoe, of Bartlesville; and Ben Pascoe, of Tahlequah; three great- grandchildren, Lillian Grace Thornblad, Aedan Thornblad, and Mara Brown and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service is set for Sat., Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m., in the Rose Chapel of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to The Foundation for Tulsa Schools, 3027 South New Haven, Suite #600, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74114-6131, or to Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, attn.: Burroughs School fund.
