DOUGLAS, Loretta Florine, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. Born July 31, 1921 in Independence, MO to Perry L. and Bertha B. (Carpenter) McDaniel. She lived in Camdon, MO as a child and the family moved to Tulsa when she was about 12.
When she was 18 years old, she married Edward Elton Douglas. They had four children, Roscoe, Eddie, Donald and Donna Louise. They lost Donna Louise in an accident at a very young age. The family moved to California several times, but finally settled in Owasso, OK (The old home place) she called home before her passing.
She was a nurse's aid at St. John Medical Center for fifteen years. They lived in several places in Oklahoma over the years and finally settled in Council Hill, OK until her illness in 2015 and came home to live with Eddie in Owasso.
Preceded in death by husband, Edward Elton Douglas; daughter, Donna Louise; son, Donald Frank Douglas; her parents; her brothers, Perry & Norman McDaniel; grandsons, Raymond and Roscoe (infant) Douglas; great-granddaughter, Violet Savanna Marie Bruner.
Survived by her sons, Eddie (Betty) of the home; Roscoe (Beverly) of Michigan; daughter, Donna Sue (Derek) Landrum of Tulsa, OK, and Susan Dawn Douglas of Council Hill, OK; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.
Go rest in peace, Loretta. You will be dearly missed--but never forgotten!
