November 7, 1933 - August 28, 2015
"O Lord, our Lord, how glorious is your name over all the earth" (Ps 8:10). Loretta lived her life with an aroma destined to please Almighty God, and God rewarded her with a charitable spirit. Her generosity and loving care toward serving others was demonstrated in her daily routine. "But let all who take refuge in you be glad and exult forever. Protect them, that you may be the joy of those who love your name" (Ps 5:12). Loretta had an urgency to make sure the people she came in contact with knew about God's love and mercy; and she had unshaken confidence that God would present Himself to those who trusted themselves to Him. "Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices, my body, too, abides in confidence; because you will not abandon my soul to the nether world, nor will you suffer your faithful one to undergo corruption" (Ps 16:9-10).
Loretta was the oldest child of four, born to Fred and Lula Norton. Both parents and two brothers preceded Loretta in death. Loretta received her education in Tulsa and was a "Mighty Mighty Hornet," graduating from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1951.
Loretta's life was a sweet fragrance to God; her memory will be cherished by her brother, Vernell Norton; two daughters, Patsy and Evon; three grandchildren, Etonno, Mildred, and Kortnie; great-grandson, Tony; aunts, Mildred and Betty; nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
