Obituary

Lou Ann Mosley, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 24, 2014 surrounded by family after a brief illness. She was married to Horace Wilson Mosley on May 14, 1948 and they were able to celebrate over 50 years together until his death in December 1998. Her hope was to be remembered as a loving and deeply devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She accomplished this and so much more. Her diminutive size did not reflect her huge heart and her ability to connect with everybody she met. She had an impact and influence on everyone she came in contact with. She loved flowers and birds, especially roses, Lilies of the Valley, cardinals and hummingbirds, antiques, the ballet, knowledge and learning. She had lifelong friendships that she nurtured, cherished and valued immensely. Her happiest times were when she was surrounded by her family. Her cherished memories were family gatherings during the holidays, especially Christmas, a time of sharing stories, playing games, and a house filled with love and laughter.
She was born to parents Ethelbert and Mabel Claypool on August 22, 1920, in St. Joseph, Missouri. Prior to becoming a homemaker, she worked as executive secretary for Oklahoma A&M from 1942-1948 and then 2 ½ years in Oklahoma City for CPA firm Wolf & Company.
She was a member of the alumni association of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and Johanson Acres Garden Club. She actively supported and was involved in MacArthur, Whitney and Nathan Hale schools and community groups. Her love for children led her to become a remarkable substitute teacher as well as a private tutor for many children. Her home of 59 years was a second home to her sons' friends and many other students. They were always welcomed and felt at home when there.
Lou Ann attended elementary school in Chicago, Illinois and high schools in Chicago, Illinois and Hammond, Louisiana. She graduated from All Saints Episcopal College in Vicksburg, Mississippi in June 1938. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M College – now Oklahoma State University in 1942 with honors and special mention in Foreign Languages Spanish and French. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Mortar Board and served in several other college organizations.
Survived by 2 sons: Steven, wife Sheryl of Little Rock, Arkansas, Gregory, wife Carolyn, of Owasso.
