Timmie Collins Hanna shimmered out of this sweet, old world October 20, 2023. Her parents, Robert and Louise Collins named her "Louise". Her grandmother re-christened her in toddlerhood as, "Timmie". Timmie she remained for the rest of her long life. She was born at home on September 8, 1931. She graduated from Will Rogers High School with the Class of 1949. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tulsa and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law. She was a member of KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA Sorority, as well as a life-long member of their National Alumni Association. Timmie was an attorney with the law firm of Houston and Klein. She later became a trust officer for the Bank of Oklahoma. She was active for many years in and served as an officer of the Oklahoma Arts and Humanities Council.
Timmie had a deeply curious, inquisitive, critical mind. She was a seeker. She read anything. She loved fine literature in all varieties but she also just wanted to learn about things. She enjoyed and was interested in all forms of the arts. She was a vast repository of songs, lyrics, melodies. She was a gifted whistler. She knew poems by heart and could recite with emotion and interpretation. She was a giver of the particular and special gift. Though rarely on time. Timmie was entranced by and keenly appreciated the great profusion of Beauty in all its manifestations. She loved the natural world. She was an explorer. She paid attention. Timmie was a consummate conversationalist who was genuinely interested in people and sought to put them at ease. She was elegant and supremely gracious in all circumstances. She had a pure heart and understood forgiveness. Timmie was head-turningly beautiful, always, but she never knew it. She sparkled. She was fearless. She was a great Mother and a great friend. She loved her people fiercely.
Timmie was preceded in death by her mom and dad, big sister Suzy Collins Davis and "baby" brother Douglas Frantz Collins, husbands Alvin Cortner, John Tyler and Ed Hanna. She was admired and adored by her family who will miss everything about her. Those who go on without her are her children, Meghan Davis and her husband Phil; sons Malcolm Cortner and Mark Cortner.
