Lula B. "Lou" Bliss passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 in Owasso, OK. She was born in Olton, Texas on October 6, 1928 to William T. Hall and Samantha (McCalip) Hall. Lou was the youngest of 7 children. She grew up in Cotton Center, Texas until her parents moved her to Oklahoma.
She graduated from Atwood High School in Atwood, Oklahoma. Lou played basketball and softball. Following graduation, Lou attended Draughn's Business School where she received her Associates Degree in Bookkeeping. She used her degree in oil and gas, as well as the Southwestern sporting goods industries.
Lou met the love of her life, Clyde Bliss, in Cotton Center, Texas. Lou met him through mutual friends while attending Draughn's Business School from 1952 - 1953. She married Clyde on September 15, 1956 and from that union came their daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Bliss.
Lou was saved and loved Jesus. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Tulsa. She served as a teacher with preschool through kindergarten aged children. Lou continued serving the children's ministries at First Baptist Church of Owasso and First Baptist Church in Bartlesville.
She enjoyed her church friends and appreciated her dear friends who shared their children and grandchildren and let her be "Granny Lou" or Miss Lou. Lou enjoyed gardening, canning, decorating cakes and learning to use her embroidery machine. She also enjoyed helping Clyde do wood crafting. Clyde and Lou were a great help to Sandy for her classroom and Special Olympics needs.
Lou is rejoicing in heaven with Clyde, our family members, and dear friends with the Lord Jesus today. She is predeceased by her parents and husband. Lou is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra Bliss.
A visitation will be held 2-4 pm, Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home. The burial will be 10am Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Castro Memorial Gardens, Dimmitt, Texas with a Memorial Service following at First Baptist Church, Spring Lake, Texas.
