Luman "Sonny" Langdon Wilcox, 82, lifetime Tulsa resident, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Sonny was a graduate of Cascia Hall and attended University of Tulsa.
Sonny was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited and member of Delta Waterfowl. As an entrepreneur and inventor he lived life doing all of the things he loved. There was never a challenge that his tinkering couldn?t overcome. A professional dog trainer and true dog lover, he was rarely seen without one of his loyal companions by his side. When not in Tulsa, he and his wife spent life on the lake in Michigan enjoying time with family.
Sonny will be greatly missed by Beverly Duncan Wilcox, his wife of 60 years; three children Luman "Lang" Wilcox, Jr. (Emmy), NC, Susan Munkres (Terrill), TX, and Katherine "Kathy" Bell (Eddie), Muskogee; brother Richard Wilcox, Tulsa; sister Betty Hastings, Tulsa; brother-in-law Robert Duncan (Dede), Tulsa; sister-in-law Mary Ann Wilcox, Tulsa; grandchildren Spence Wilcox, Ryan Wilcox, Katy Allen, Chad Munkres, Lisa McElroy, Alyssa Munkres, Brett Munkres and Cody Hess; and two great-granddaughters. Preceded in death by his parents, Homer F. Wilcox and Olga Langdon Wilcox; his brother Homer F. Wilcox, Jr.; and sister Virginia Hagar.
