Obituary

Lydia Ford (Tyson) passed away peacefully in Tulsa on December 2, 2024. Lydia went to be with her Lord at the age of 96 years, 11 months,17 days. Born at her grandparents' farm on December 16th, 1927 in Washington County.

Lydia graduated from Central High School in 1947 in which she had perfect attendance. She married the love of her life Beryl April 1st, 1950. She told her parents, but they did not believe her so they were not in attendance at her wedding. They pulled off the best April Fools joke by being married on April 1st. They were married for nearly 59 years.

Beryl and Lydia built their lifelong home with their own hands in 1953 on 7th Street in Tulsa. Lydia was a homemaker raising her children and also David Ravenscroft whom she raised since infancy along with several Bonus children. Lydia's home was the house all the neighborhood kids would go to.

The only nights she spent apart from Beryl was when she traveled to Europe with her sister in law Pat.

Lydia was a "Rotary Ann", served with Meals on Wheels at Braden Park Baptist Church in which she was a member for many years. Served on several Central High School Reunion committees. She was a big supporter in the family business Home Contractors Inc. and also in her beloved Beryl's hobby preserving Tulsa History.

She was also known for her love of butterflies. She wore a signature butterfly in her hair always.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend and grandmother and will be missed terribly. We know without a doubt she is in the loving hands of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Earl Tyson; her husband, Beryl D. Ford; and son, Ronald Dean; daughters-in-law, Carol and Julie.

Lydia was the mother of 7 children: Russell, Bob, Annette and spouse Dennis, Ronald Dean, Richard, and spouse Vicki, Ross and spouse Lisa and David. Twenty-two grandchildren: Maria, Brandon, Rob and Spouse Mirandy, Jeremy and spouse Katherine, Amy and spouse Charles, James and spouse Amy, Brent and spouse Allie, Caryn and Spouse Michael, Jason, Jared and spouse Sherryl, Alex, Kasey and spouse Brian, Ryan and spouse Brianna.
