Obituary

"Lynda Rae Hardwick passed away on Saturday January 5, 2013 in Tulsa.

Lynda was born January 15, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri to James Woodress Harris and Elizabeth (Foley) Harris.

Shortly after Lynda's birth, the family moved to Joplin, Missouri where Lynda spent her childhood and graduated from Joplin High School in 1960.

After graduating high school she attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman. There she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. While at OU she met them man with whom she would share her life, James Jarrett Hardwick. They were married in Kansas City, Kansas in July of 1964.

After marriage, Jim and Lynda made their home in Oklahoma City where they celebrated the birth of a son, James Douglas Hardwick in 1966.

Shortly after Doug's birth the family moved to Tulsa where their second son, Joseph Harris Hardwick was born in 1971.

Lynda worked as a preschool teacher at Bethany Church and then as a secretary for Nathan Hale High School. Lynda then worked as a Purchasing Agent for Tulsa Public Schools until her retirement.

Since retiring, Lynda enjoyed spending time with her many friends and gardening.

Her greatest joy was reserved for her grandchildren, Jarrett, EJ, Abigail and Madeline. She was a beloved grandmother whom will forever be in the many cherished memories they share.

Lynda and James are members of All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa.

Lynda is survived by her beloved husband Jim, her sons Doug and Joe, daughters in laws Robin and Wendy, Grandchildren Jarrett, EJ, Abigail and Madeline and Lynda's brother James and wife Kathy. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert and grandson Kaleb.
