Barron, Maurice I., "M.I.", 94, died Friday, April 18, 2014. M.I. was born in Shawnee, OK., to Ira B. & Vergie E. (Hall) Barron, December 7, 1919. After high school, Maurice wanting to pursue a career in music, attended Southwest Bible School, Enid, OK. His loss of hearing prevented him from finishing this degree. And that coupled with the bad economy forced him to leave school.
His hearing loss prevented him from serving in WWII, but Barron found success working for the Corps Of Engineers. After working the KAW dam project, M. I. turned to what he loved doing, restoring automobiles. He founded Barron & Hart Autobody Rebuilders in 1947. He operated this business for 44 years. His Son, Bryon continues to run the business.
M.I. is survived by his two sons: Barry Barron, his wife June, Broken Arrow, OK, Bryon Barron, his wife, Sherie, Tulsa, OK. Grandchildren: Drew, David, & Nicholas Barron, Melissa Reed, her husband, Lloyd, Holly Hale, her husband, Wes & Angela Barron. Great grandchildren: Kayla, Ashlyn & Jacob. M.I. is preceded in death by his wife of over 70 years: Opal E. (Omo) Barron.
Service, 10 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, Eastland Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be all day, Friday, April 25, 2014, 8 a.m. til 8 p.m., Moore's South lawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st .
In lieu of flowers friends may contribute to the Eastland Assembly of God Chapel Fund, 12323 East 21st Street, Tulsa, OK. Interment will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, OK.
