Elrod, Mabel Louise, 88 of Tulsa, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 23, 2013. She passed away at home surrounded by family after a long and blessed life. She was born July 25, 1925 in Water Valley, Mississippi to William Leroy and Erma Louise Greaver. Mabel was preceded in death by husband Dr. Bill B. Elrod, MD. Survived by children Leroy Barnett Elrod, Tulsa, William F. Elrod and wife Lisa, Tulsa, Jimbo Elrod and wife Marlene, Tulsa, Robert Jack Elrod and wife Julie, Oklahoma City, Frances Louise Elrod-Juarez and husband Roy, Tulsa, grandchildren Todd Elrod and Wife Christina, Lance Elrod, Mandy Elrod, Billie Dawn Elrod, Kirsten Neyman and husband Chris, Chanel Elrod, Megann Frazier and husband Troy, Ethan Elrod, Chad and Brad Stites, Priscilla Ward and husband Jake, great grandchildren Dillon, Morgan, Mason, Taryn, Branden, Blake, Amber, Kennedy, Aurelius, Sofia, Braden, Brittany and Jay, sister Ada Loyce Overbey. In the early days Mabel helped to provide while her husband Bill went through medical school at Ole Miss then she became her husband?s office manager and was a homemaker. She was also a WWII POW camp secretary. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, OU Football and was the owner of several thoroughbred horses. She enjoyed ceramics and loved her dog Sadie.
