Obituary

Mackie passed away peacefully on January 21st, 2020. Born in Concord, California on December 9 of 1932, to parents Lloyd and Loretta Harper, Mackie was preceded in death by her husband Michael, her twin sister Jackie Vlerick, and sister Lois Jean Steffensen. She is survived by nieces Laura Arnold of Tulsa, Adrienne Costello of Albuquerque, Renee Vlerick of Thousand Oaks, California, nephews Paul Vlerick of Tulsa and Steven Steffensen of Antioch, California. She is also survived by 5 step-children, Jim Hunter of Sun City, Arizona, Michele Lee of Prescott, Wisconsin, Brenda Gunderson of Scandia, Minnesota, Teresa Hunter of Boise, Idaho, and Michael Hunter of Prescott, Wisconsin. She is also survived by countless friends.

Mackie's strong Christian values, radiant and ready smile, and caring nature endeared her to her family, neighbors, and the community. She touched hundreds of lives through her nursing and volunteerism, including service as a hospice volunteer. She loved gardening, entertaining, and her beloved dog Katie. She will be dearly missed but always remembered with a smile.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers a contribution be considered to either Catholic Charities of Tulsa or Clarehouse of Tulsa.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
